Plextor's PX-PH320US is the first external portable hard disk we've seen with an eSATA interface. No backup software is included, but Plextor bundles its own password-protection utility for securing the contents of your disk from prying eyes. A two-plug USB cable is included to ensure the PX-PH320US receives enough power when connected to your PC. Even when connected using eSATA, you'll still need to use the USB cable for power since eSATA cables carry only data. This was one of the fastest portable disks we've seen when using USB, but faster when connected using eSATA. Here, it transferred large files at an overall speed of 52.1MB/s and small files at 16.5MB/s. The PX-PH320US is great value at 26p per gigabyte, but if you're on a budget, Iomega's eGo USB 250GB is £21 cheaper and comes with backup software. By Alan Lu SPECIFICATIONS:
